Inside our operation
Most people see Beechwood through the work happening on site.
The arborists. The vehicles. The chippers. The machinery.
But behind every team that leaves the yard is a much wider operation keeping everything moving.
From the first enquiry through to completing the work and raising the invoice, different parts of the business have to work together every day.
Here’s a look inside the Beechwood operation.
Our Office Manager — overseeing daily operations, client communications, and team support with professionalism and care.
Administration | Where it starts
For many customers, our administration team is their first contact with Beechwood.
They manage enquiries, organise site visits, process information, coordinate paperwork and keep communication moving between clients, managers and our operational teams.
With multiple teams and jobs running every day, good administration is what keeps everything connected.
Managers & Surveyors | Turning enquiries into work

Our managers and surveyors are the link between the customer and our teams on site.
They visit sites, understand what needs to be achieved, prepare quotations and plan how the work will be delivered.
That means considering the people, equipment, access, programme and any constraints before making sure the right resources are in the right place at the right time.
They also manage client relationships and look ahead to what is coming next.
Good delivery starts with good planning.

Compliance | Supporting safe delivery
Working with trees, heavy machinery, vehicles, highways and the public means there is a significant amount happening behind the scenes to support our teams.
Training and competencies. Risk management. LOLER and equipment inspections. Audits. PPE. Documentation. Site checks and our wider management systems.
Our compliance function helps make sure the standards we expect are being maintained across the business.
Safety and compliance aren't separate from the operation. They're part of it.
Operations | Delivering the work
This is the part of Beechwood most people see.
Our arborists, landscapers, machine operators and ground teams are out every day turning the planning into delivery.
Tree surgery, highways work, vegetation management, planting, landscaping, site clearance, emergency response and specialist operations all require different skills, qualifications and equipment.
They're working in different locations and conditions, but with one objective:
Deliver the job safely, efficiently and to the standard our clients expect.
Engineering & Maintenance | Keeping the operation moving
A business like ours relies heavily on its equipment.
Trucks, chippers, chainsaws, stump grinders, MEWPs and specialist plant all need inspecting, servicing, maintaining and repairing.
Our engineering and maintenance support helps keep that equipment available and our teams productive.
It isn't always something the customer sees, but it's critical to our ability to deliver consistently.
The right people still need reliable equipment behind them.

Finance | Keeping the business working
Behind every completed job are purchase orders, supplier invoices, payroll, customer invoices, budgets, costs and cash flow.
Our finance team manages that process while also giving the wider business the information needed to understand how we're performing.
That information helps us make better decisions and continue investing in our people, vehicles, equipment and future growth.
A strong operation has to be commercially sustainable too.
One Operation
Administration. Management. Compliance. Operations. Engineering. Finance.
Each has a different responsibility, but none works in isolation.
They all contribute to getting our teams out of the gate every morning, delivering for our customers and bringing them safely back again.
Since 1998, Beechwood has grown significantly, but ultimately the principle remains the same:
Good businesses aren't built around one department or one person. They're built when every part of the operation works together.
That's what keeps Beechwood moving.
