Behind the Scenes with John & Dan at Coombe Abbey Hotel
We recently spent the day at the Coombe Abbey Hotel, where John and his brother Dan were hard at work maintaining the grounds. It was a full day of landscaping, with a focus on bringing structure and clarity back to the space after a strong spring growth.
Armed with hedge cutters, mowers, blowers and a clear plan of action, the team set out to get the grounds in shape. Hedges were cut back cleanly, lawns were mown for a sharp finish, and the site was cleared of debris to ensure the whole area looked well-kept and ready for visitors.
One key part of the day involved treating the box hedges. These required careful attention as we begin restoring them to top condition, a job that will take continued effort over the coming months. If you want to learn more about the challenges these hedges face, check out our blog on box caterpillars here.
We’ve also captured some of the process on film, including a walkthrough from John, who shares insights into the tools, methods and challenges of working on a high-profile site like this.
